CONCORD, NH – For the second year in a row during November and December 2017, E. & J. Gallo Winery committed to donate 50 cents to the New Hampshire Food Bank for every bottle of Carnivor, DaVinci, William Hill and Whitehaven products sold at all retail accounts, including New Hampshire’s 80 statewide New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlets, raising $25,884 to help thousands of Granite State residents who have nothing to eat. More than 10 percent of all New Hampshire residents, including more than 13-percent of children, are food insecure, meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from.

“NHLC has made it a point to raise critical support for New Hampshire’s nonprofit community. We’re proud that E. & J. Gallo Winery, with the support of Pine State Beverage, raised funds for the New Hampshire Food Bank,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica. “The state relies on NHLC to deliver record revenues to the New Hampshire General Fund and that will always be our primary focus, but we are always open to opportunities to make an impact on the nonprofit organizations making a difference in New Hampshire.”

As part of this initiative, E. & J. Gallo Winery donated 50 cents per bottle sold of William Hill NC Cabernet, William Hill NC Chardonnay, Carnivor Cabernet, Louis Martini Sonoma Cabernet, DaVinci Pinot Grigio, DaVinci Chianti and Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc. With the New Hampshire Food Bank able to turn every $1 raised into two nutritious meals, this fundraising effort generated 52,000 meals for those in need in New Hampshire. A similar effort last year raised more than $22,000 for the New Hampshire Food Bank.

“Fighting food insecurity and hunger is an important mission for all of us as a global community,” says Gina Gallo, third generation winemaker. “Our family and family winery are immensely proud to help fight hunger in New Hampshire. Together, these efforts will generate more than 52,000 nutritious meals for those in need. This January, I was honored to join Chairman Joseph Mollica to meet with New Hampshire Food Bank’s Nancy Mellitt. The passion and energy of Nancy and her colleagues are combating hunger in the New Hampshire community and truly making a difference.”

“Pine State Beverage is proud to take part in this joint effort with E. & J. Gallo Winery to raise crucial funding for the New Hampshire Food Bank, which is fighting hunger all over New Hampshire,” said Joe Ricci, director of New Hampshire sales and marketing for Pine State Beverage. “With the New Hampshire Food Bank able to turn every dollar donated into two meals, this collaborative effort has generated nearly 100,000 meals for those in need in New Hampshire over the past two years.”

NHLC has worked with suppliers and brokers to raise more than $1.2 million for nonprofit organizations making an impact in New Hampshire during the past five years. In addition to the New Hampshire Food Bank, the following nonprofits have benefited from NHLC’s support: the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association, Homes for Our Troops, Operation Care for Troops, Easterseals New Hampshire, Toys for Tots, Granite United Way, Concord Hospital, Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, Crotched Mountain, and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire.

“We are extremely grateful for this continued support from NHLC, Pine State Beverage and E. & J. Gallo Winery. E. & J. Gallo Winery has raised nearly $50,000 for the New Hampshire Food Bank over the past two years,” said Eileen Liponis, executive director of the New Hampshire Food Bank. “This critical funding comes at a crucial time as winter is challenging for many of the people we support. This support will help us deliver nutritious food to the nearly 130,000 New Hampshire residents with nothing to eat.”
