MANCHESTER, NH – Granite United Way will be among the thousands of charities across the nation that help raise awareness to this giving season kick off. #GIVINGTUESDAY was created to celebrate generosity during the holiday season, following two of the largest shopping days of the year (Black Friday and Cyber Monday.)

“Granite United Way is proud to be part of the #GIVINGTUESDAY movement,” said Patrick Tufts, President and CEO of Granite United Way. “During the past year Granite United Way has been celebrated at the national level for its transparency and efficiency. We are honored to be named among charities that hold the Gold Level status from GuideStar and are named a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator, both the highest possible recognitions from these established organizations.”

Granite United Way is rated a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This coveted recognition is the highest possible rating and is only bestowed upon 1 in 4 rated charities. Granite United Way has also been named to Gold Level status by GuideStar, the largest source of nonprofit information, connecting people and organizations with information on more than 1.8 million IRS-recognized nonprofits. Granite United Way is the only United Way in New England to hold both distinctions.

Once again, Granite United Way has the opportunity to leverage many of the gifts that come in during #GIVINGTUESDAY with several Challenge Matches offered throughout their footprint.

In the Southern Region (Manchester/Salem/Derry) – Mark and Sally Stebbins, owners of PROCON, Loyal Contributors and Alexis de Tocqueville Society members, generously offered to match up to $25,000 for every new or increased gift during the 2015 Granite United Way Campaign. This Challenge Match was successfully fulfilled in 2014 and they generously offered the match for a second year in a row.

Across the state – John F. Swope, Loyal Contributor and Alexis de Tocqueville Society Member offered to match up to $25,000 for any new Alexis de Tocqueville Society member, a donor who contributes $10,000 annually. Another Alexis de Tocqueville Society Member has also offered to match up to $25,000 of increased Tocqueville gifts from current members.

To be eligible for matches, all gifts must be made by March 31, 2015.
