With all the challenges and changes we’ve all been dealing with since the COVID-19 pandemic began, in many ways we’ve pretty much had to adjust to an entirely new way of life.

So many Individuals and families struggling already are now facing a new set of struggles/obstacles, along with the endless number of workers in all fields being unemployed, struggling to do their already challenging jobs each day. The fear associated with COVID-19 itself adds an extra level of fear to our daily lives as it is!

For our teachers and students having to abruptly stop attending school every day and adjust to the remote learning curriculum which is not only challenging for us parents and students, but also for our amazing teachers and school administrators who have been going above and beyond to ensure our students (AKA: our children) are able to continue to learn and get their education even in this already challenging time.

Aside from the above mentioned, and the many other far-reaching barriers/obstacles that have come from this pandemic there are also those seemingly little and/or not-as important ones, such as: no end of the year celebrations, graduations, and/or other events our children look forward to after working hard all year in school. There is no celebration for students or teachers, no organized clubs, sports, other activities. and much more.

Though to many this may seem unimportant and/or not a priority, as a parent I’ve seen firsthand just how much hard work and dedication both my children, their friends, and especially their teachers have put into not just the regular school year but also the remote learning/since the close of school.

If I may offer an example: My 6-year-old-son Damien’s teacher, she is amazing she is always texting and emailing to check in on not only Damien, but the rest of our family, she is always asking if there’s anything she can do to help Damien, and more! *NOTE: I could go on for ages listing more ways she has showed her genuine care and dedication as his teacher, as well as my daughter’s teachers and other school faculty/administrators, but I’ll leave that for my appreciation letters/gifts for this event.

None of us know just how long this is all going to last, though it doesn’t seem as though it is going to go back to normal anytime soon. But I feel that the teachers and students deserve some sort of celebration, even if it is not a typical in-school party. They deserve not only to be recognized for all their continued hard work and care, but for the students to have a fun event after all their hard work also. A combined K-5th graduation/celebration.

To bring back some sense of normalcy, even if only for a day!

I’ve been putting together a sponsor/donor request letter/proposal to reach out to some local area businesses and others in the hopes of being able to get some support on a higher level from our community. As well as putting together lists of items/supplies needed for this event, contacts from both my businesses, ‘Free 2Be You’Nique HandMade & Heartfelt Designs’ and Community Outreach Group, ‘People Helping People 2Pay it 4ward – NH’ plus researching and finding any and everything I can about how to go about doing this, ways to raise money, and so much more. I always try to put my all into everything I do and this is yet another project that is not only close to my heart but something I am dedicated to seeing happen!

Hopefully other people will feel the same and can donate; whether it be a monetary donation (no matter how small or big it all helps) materials/items donations, volunteer your time to help with reaching out to others throughout our community, planning, etc. and anyone else who wishes to support this very important cause!
