MANCHESTER, NH – The TD Charitable Foundation recently donated $200,000 to Families in Transition-New Horizons as part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community — in this case, helping the two organizations as it navigates an historic merger.

In January of 2018, Families in Transition and New Horizons merged together to become one nonprofit that provides hunger relief, safe affordable housing, and supportive services to homeless or vulnerable families and individuals in New Hampshire. The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will help to provide an increased supply of affordable housing, an integrated and seamless system of care to prevent homelessness when possible, rapidly rehouse those who become homeless, incorporate evidence based practices proven to meet needs and goals of Manchester’s most vulnerable citizens, and measure success and identify areas for systematic and programmatic improvements.

“With the help of this very generous TD Charitable Foundation investment, we have a unique opportunity to create an integrated system of care that will lead to tangible results for those most in need,” said Maureen Beauregard, President of Families in Transition-New Horizons. “We’re working to enhance the system as a whole, ensuring that those with the greatest barriers to safe and affordable housing and food insecurity receive the comprehensive care that they need.”

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide support to affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and environmental initiatives, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.

“TD Bank has been a long-standing supporter of Families in Transition-New Horizons and we truly admire the incredible work that they do on a daily basis to support those most in need” states Steve Webb, NH Market President for TD Bank. “This major grant from the TD Charitable Foundation will help strengthen the infrastructure of the current homeless services system and ensure that those with the greatest needs receive the most innovative, effective and efficient care to achieve long-term stability and wellness.”
