2 from Manchester charged in Methuen hookah bar drive-by shooting

MANCHESTER, NH – A pair from Manchester were arrested June 19 after an investigation by Methuen, Mass., Police into a drive-by shooting  outside of a local hookah bar.

Dispatch was advised that a vehicle with a New Hampshire registration was involved in the incident. The vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Altima, was registered to Aisha Herrera, 25, of Manchester.

Manchester Officers Patrick Colburn and Alexandros Hondros located the Nissan on Quincy Street at approximately 4 a.m. June 19. The unoccupied vehicle was parked on Quincy Street near Conant Street. The officers observed three people enter the vehicle a short time later. They conducted a felony motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Douglas and Dyson Street.

The rear seat passenger was identified as Manuel Velasquez, 31, of Manchester. He was not charged. The front seat passenger was identified as Moise Rodriguez, 25, of Manchester, and the operator was identified as the registered owner, Aisha Herrera.

The officers located a hi-point .380 caliber handgun on Velasquez. Herrera and Rodriguez were arrested and charged as fugitives from justice based on the Massachusetts warrants, which charged Herrera with assault by dangerous weapon, firearm (felony), discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and disorderly person. Massachusetts authorities charged Rodriguez with unlawful possession of a firearm (felony) and disorderly person.

Velasquez was not charged as a result of the incident, so he was released from the scene. Both Herrera and Rodriguez are scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 19, 2017.
