
MANCHESTER, NH — Police are investigating a four-vehicle crash Tuesday at the Amoskeag Rotary that left two women seriously injured.
At about 6:43 p.m. Manchester Police officers responded to the area of the Amoskeag Rotary for a multi-vehicle crash with entrapment. Upon arrival officers observed four vehicles that appeared to be involved, with a female occupant lying on the ground. Two injured females, ages unknown at this time, were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A summary of the accident provided by Manchester Fire officials states that three of the vehicles were stopped at a red light when a fourth vehicle rear-ended a landscaping dump body truck at a high rate of speed. One victim was ejected from the passenger side of the fourth vehicle and the driver was trapped inside the car.
The entrapped victim was extricated in 25 minutes.
Both victims had life-threatening injuries. Trauma Teams were notified at CMC where both victims are currently being treated. Part of the traffic circle was closed by MPD and they have an accident reconstruction team on scene. Three other people were treated at the scene and released from care.
