MANCHESTER, NH – Officer Shawn McKennedy conducted a motor vehicle stop on the Bridge Street bridge at 6:20 p.m. on June 20 after observing two motor vehicle infractions. The operator, Joshua Nolet, 31, of Manchester failed to use his required turn signal on two separate occasions before turning on the Bridge Street bridge.

The officer approached the vehicle, which smelled like marijuana had recently been burned, and noted two other men  seated in the car. Officer Cody Healy arrived on scene and began speaking to the rear seat passenger, who originally provided a false name. The three men exited the vehicle after Nolet granted consent to search the 1999 Buick Regal.

The officers located marijuana on the rear seat passenger and positively identified him as Jonathan Lane, 32 of Brooklyn, NY. The officer placed Lane into custody without incident and seized 2.4 grams of marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled drug.

The front seat passenger was identified as Edward Roberts, 37 of Manchester. Roberts was in possession of 6.4 grams of marijuana, over 100 grams of crack cocaine and over $5,000 cash. He too was placed into custody without incident, charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. Both men are scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 21, 2017.

Nolet was not charged in the incident and released from the scene.
