2 arrested, others sought for robbery of cell phone after assault on Canal Street

MANCHESTER, NH — On April 18, 2019, at approximately 2 a.m., Sergeant Morgan Lovejoy of the Manchester Police Department was traveling on Elm Street when he came across a  man who appeared to have been assaulted.

Sgt.  Lovejoy learned from the man that he was walking in the area of Canal Street and W. Brook Street when he was approached by 4 or 5 males who allegedly assaulted him and took his cell phone. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

DeJesus

Officer Eric Cooper, who was checking the area, located two people matching the descriptions of the suspects. As a result of the investigation Officer Cooper arrested Jason DeJesus, 25, and Gene Allende, 22, both of Manchester, and charged them with one count of robbery.

The victim was able to provide the following descriptions of the men who assaulted him:

  • Three white males, average build
  • One black male, average build
  • One Hispanic male, muscular build
