MANCHESTER, NH – Two people were arrested in connection with a reported stolen vehicle, after police responded to a crash on South Willow Street on April 4.

Several officers responded to the scene, near McDonald’s, at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday. John Roy, 24, of Manchester, was operating a 2007 Volkswagen – later found to be reported stolen –  when he allegedly backed his vehicle into a 2010 Honda Civic as they waited at a traffic light on S. Beech Street, at S. Willow Street.

The operator of the Honda, Kristina Coughlin, 25, of Manchester, was the lone occupant of her vehicle and did not report any injuries. Coughlin was parked behind the stolen Volkswagen waiting for the traffic light to turn green. She stated the operator of the car reversed into her while damaging both the front end of the Honda and the rear end of the Volkswagen, which was reported stolen on April 1, 2017 after it was taken from Speedy Lube, 226 Second St., where it was left for service.

Coughlin told police that Roy had a passenger in the vehicle prior to police arrival. The officers located his female passenger a short time later near 2287 Brown Ave. She was identified as Nicole Carreau, 24, of Manchester.

Roy was arrested and charged with stalking, receiving/possessing a stolen motor vehicle and violation of bail conditions. Roy was not supposed to be with Carreau based on a prior domestic-related arrest.

Carreau was located and a subsequent check revealed she was wanted on an electronic bench warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed she was in possession of 11 prescription pills–  10 Seroquel and one diazepam, so she was transported to police headquarters. Upon arrival, the officers noted Carreau had slipped out of one handcuff and appeared to be suffering from an unknown medical emergency. AMR arrived on scene and transported her to the Elliot Hospital.

Officers located a white residue inside the floor of the police transport wagon. The substance tested presumptive positive for cocaine. Carreau had additional cocaine hidden inside a body cavity so it was also seized and placed into evidence. She was charged with three counts possession of controlled drug and falsifying physical evidence.

Both Roy and Carreau appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on April 5, 2017.
