MANCHESTER, NH — Members of the Manchester Police Patrol Division arrested two men on Jan. 11 and charged them both as felons in possession of dangerous weapons.

One of the men was additionally charged with three of the recent armed robberies, to include Shop N Go, Seven Days Market and A + A Market. The three robberies occurred between January 7 and 8.

Sergeant Mathew Jajuga, along with Officer Eric Pappalardo and Officer Michael DeJoy stopped Kyle Bernier, 27, of Manchester, and Mesfen Rowell, 30,  no fixed address, while they were walking on Lake Avenue toward Lincoln Street. Police had information that one or both men may have been involved in the string of recent robberies, so they conducted a field stop to speak with them.

A pat-down search revealed both men were in possession of dangerous weapons. Rowell was in possession of a 9 mm handgun, which had a fully loaded magazine. Bernier was in possession of a BB gun and a pair of brass knuckles. Both men were previously convicted of felonies, so Rowell and Bernier were charged with convicted felon in possession of dangerous weapons.

Detectives working on the recent robbery investigation also charged Rowell with three counts of armed robbery. Both are scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court on January 14, 2018.
