MANCHESTER, NH — Best-selling author Mohsin Hamid will appear at New Hampshire Institute of Art, French Hall, 148 Concord St., Manchester on October 2, at 7 p.m. for an onstage interview and audience question-and-answer session. Tickets are $5 at the door and can be reserved online.

Hamid is the author of “Exit West,” a New York Times bestseller that was selected for the first annual One Book, One Manchester (@1BOOK1MHT) citywide reading program.  It won the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction and was listed as one of the Ten Best Books of 2017 by the New York Times Book Review and Amazon Best Book of 2017. It was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2017.

“It’s a breathtaking novel by one of the world’s most fascinating young writers, and it arrives at an urgent time. Hamid encourages to us to put ourselves in the shoes of others, even when they’ve lived lives much harder than anything we’ve endured. We have nothing in common except the most essential things, the things that make us human — as Hamid writes, ‘We are all migrants through time.'” – ‘Escaping a World on Fire’ by Michael Schaub for NPR
