$17.5K reward offered for information leading to arrest in Ray Street murder

MANCHESTER, NH – Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Police Chief Nick Willard announce a reward of up to $17,500 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the Aug. 30 murder of Denise Robert.

The reward is being offered jointly by the NH Union Leader, the Union Leader Charitable Foundation, Denise Robert’s co-workers and fellow Manchester News Guild members ($5,000);  $2,500 by the Manchester Police Crime Line; and $10,000 by an anonymous donor. Public support continues and Attorney General Foster expects that the reward may increase, pending several businesses reaching out on behalf of the Robert family.

At this time, a tipster may be eligible to collect $17,500.

As previously reported, at approximately 9 p.m., on Sunday, August 30 the Manchester Police Department received a 911 call reporting a person in the road. Officers responded to the area of Ray and Carpenter Streets. When they arrived, they discovered Denise Robert, 62, of Bedford, in the road, deceased.

The investigation has also revealed that a loud firecracker-type noise was heard and a pickup truck was seen quickly leaving the area. Police continue to work to locate the pickup truck and speak with the driver. The witnesses interviewed at this time describe the pickup and the driver as a dark-colored pickup truck driven by a white male in his 20s to 30s, with short, cropped hair.

Ms. Robert was wearing white New Balance sneakers, white jean-type shorts with a white belt, and a long-sleeved, white and dark purple (almost black) striped shirt.

Anyone in the city who has a home security or video surveillance system is asked to review the tapes to determine if Denise Robert, her vehicle, or the pickup truck was captured.

Anyone who saw Deise Robert on Sunday, August, 30 or who saw the pickup truck/driver described by witnesses or who may have any information regarding this murder investigation is asked to call the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711 or anonymously at Manchester Crimeline at (603) 624-4040.

Since August 31, 2015, Manchester Police have received approximately a dozen tips about this case. Police continue to follow-up on each of these leads and  investigate every aspect of this murder. It is crucial that any person who has any information regarding this murder report to the police what information is known to them, no matter how inconsequential the person believes the information may be.
