UPDATE: 11 a.m. Police have reopened Lake Shore Road to traffic.
MANCHESTER, NH —One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 5 Manchester Police responded to a car accident in the area of Lake Shore and Island Pond roads. When police arrived they found a 2008 Chevy Cobalt up against a tree and fully-engulfed in flames.
Once the fire was extinguished, the body of a deceased male was found inside. His identity is not being released at this time, as police work to notify next of kin.
Based on the tire tracks found at the scene, it appears the vehicle was driving south on Lake Shore Road when it left the roadway, drove on the dirt shoulder and then hit a large tree.
The investigation is ongoing and there is still no through traffic on Lake Shore Road.
