LONDONDERRY, NH — On Friday, August 25, 2018 at approximately 11:10 p.m., State Police – Troop B was notified of a serious motor vehicle crash on Interstate 93 southbound in Londonderry. Upon their arrival, they observed that the crash involved two vehicles, both of which rolled over multiple times. They were able to determine that there was one occupant in each vehicle and that one of the drivers was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.

The first vehicle was identified as a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse, operated by Ramiro S. Perinho, 38, of Haverhill, MA. Perinho was pronounced dead on scene. The second vehicle was identified as a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Shane M. Dillon, 47, of Hudson. Dillon was transported to Parkland Medical Center with a head injury. Due to the seriousness of the crash Troop B requested the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R.).

Based upon the initial on-scene investigation, it appears that the Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling southbound when it lost control for an unknown reason and veered across the roadway, striking the Chevy Malibu, which was also traveling southbound. Both vehicles veered into the center median, drove down into a ditch and then both began to rollover. Perinho was ejected from his vehicle.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, (C.A.R.) Unit was assisted on scene by members of the State Police – Troop B Barracks as well as Londonderry Fire/EMS, Derry Fire/EMS and NH DOT. Due to the collision, Interstate 93 southbound was rerouted to the Exit 4 off ramp. This area was closed for approximately 5 hours.

At this time it appears that speed may have been a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation. Anyone that may have further information related to this collision, or who witnessed this collsion are encouraged to contact Trooper First Class Bryan Plamondon by email at Bryan.Plamondon@dos.nh.gov.
