1 dead, 1 seriously injured after Elm Street crash

MANCHESTER, NH — A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger suffered serious injury after a traffic accident Monday on Elm Street.

At about 9:30 p.m. on July 9  Manchester Police Department, Manchester Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a crash in the area of Elm and W. Auburn streets where a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 had collided with a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation indicates the RAV 4, operated by an 18 year old Manchester woman, was turning west onto W. Auburn Street  when it collided with a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 36 year old Derry man with a female passenger, who was traveling south on Elm Street.

The woman in the RAV 4 was uninjured. However the motorcycle operator suffered severe head injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, the passenger on the motorcycle, a 28 year old Manchester woman, was also transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The identities of all persons involved are being withheld pending the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Traffic Unit Collision Reconstruction and Analysis Team. Anyone with information regarding this crash is urged to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
