1 arrested, 2 at large in Comfort Inn armed robbery, pistol whipping

MANCHESTER, NH – Multiple Units responded to an armed robbery reported at the Comfort Inn, 298 Queen City Ave., at approximately 9:50 p.m. December 2, 2017. Units were called to investigate a robbery involving three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The three men allegedly broke into a room, attacked the 34-year-old man renting a room and struck his female guest in the face. The assailant with the handgun allegedly “pistol whipped” the female victim then fled with an iPhone and two backpacks. The victim, a 27-year-old female, sustained a laceration to her lip, but refused medical treatment.

Manchester Police Detectives Scott Ardita and Morgan Lovejoy worked on the case during the overnight hours. They gathered enough probable cause to charge one of the three men involved in the armed robbery. They identified and arrested Raheem Tyler, 19, of Manchester, who was taken into custody at his residence on December 3, 2017.


Detectives are still trying to identify the other two individuals involved in the robbery, and have provided surveillance photos. Suspect No. 1 is described as possibly Hispanic, with light skin wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with light colored jeans and black sneakers. He was armed with a handgun at the time of the incident. Suspect No. 2 was described as a black male, large build, who was last seen wearing a royal blue-and-black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Tyler is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Court-North on December 4, 2017.
