MANCHESTER, NH – A Contoocook woman was arrested Sept. 3 for allegedly driving under the influence of opiates after an accident at the intersection of Bridge Street and Mammoth Road in which her passenger had to be revived with Narcan.

Paige Kerr, 26, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs; possession of a controlled drug; and two counts of reckless conduct based on the following police narrative:

On Saturday at approximately 10:55 p.m., Officer Mark Aquino assigned to the Traffic Division was working a NH Highway Safety DWI enforcement detail when he responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Mammoth Road and Bridge Street.

The operator, later identified as Kerr, was traveling north on Mammoth Road. A second vehicle, operated by Robert Lacroix, was in the process of making a left turn from Mammoth Road onto Bridge Street westerly, when Kerr simultaneously made an illegal left turn onto Bridge Street from the center lane, according to police, resulting in the collision. Lacroix’s passenger received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Elliot Hospital.

While police and EMS were on scene, Kerr’s 32-year-old female passenger was found unconscious/unresponsive suffering from an apparent opiate overdose. EMS  personnel revived the passenger through the administration of Narcan and she was transported to the Elliot Hospital for further evaluation.

Kerr was arrested and charged as noted above. She was scheduled for arraignment on September 6 in the 9th Circuit District Court in Manchester.
