MANCHESTER, NH –Manchester West Principal Chris Motika has resigned his post for a job with the state Department of Education.

“Chris is accepting the position of Director of Integrated Programs and Titles at the NHDOE and will remain with the district through the middle of August,” said David Ryan, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the district.

“We are sorry to see him leave but certainly understand his desire to spend more time with his growing family. A high school principal position is very demanding on a person’s nights and weekends, so this move makes sense for him and his family. Personally, I am excited for him to take on this next challenge and professionally we just gained another talented friend in the DOE,” Ryan said.

He said the district will be moving forward with filling the role at West” as soon as possible.”

Motika said his departure from West is bittersweet.

“Needless to say,  I am both sad to leave West and the amazing faculty, staff and students, but also excited for this new opportunity at the Department of Education. It has been my pleasure to serve the people on the West side of Manchester as principal, and I hope to continue leading education reform in the state in my new role.”

Before coming to West in July of 2013, Motika served as assistant principal at Nashua High School North for five years under Ryan, who served as principal at Nashua North. Both Motika and Ryan made the move to Manchester School District at the same time.
