Weather update: No school or trash pick-up Feb. 9 due to snow

Screen Shot 2015-02-08 at 7.12.38 PMMANCHESTER, NH – City schools will be closed Feb. 9 due to the amount of snowfall over the weekend, with the heaviest snowfall still expected overnight Sunday into Monday.

Also, no trash collection will be scheduled Feb. 9 due to the storm. This should push back trash collection by one day.

The latest information from the National Weather Service follows:

  • Sunday night: Snow, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle, becoming all snow after 1am. Low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -7. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
  • Monday: Snow. High near 16. Wind chill values as low as -7. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  • Monday night: Snow, mainly before 4am. Low around 12. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of snow before 7 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. Wind chill values as low as zero. North wind around 10 mph.
