MANCHESTER, NH – Tony Sapienza has been declared the unofficial winner by a large margin in the Ward 5 Special Election held May 12 to seat a new Ward 5 Alderman.
According to City Clerk Matthew Normand, Sapienza won the election with 213 votes. There were 355 votes cast, with 348 tallied, five blanks and two write-in votes.
The other candidates earned the following vote count:
Ted Rokas: 71
Cheryl Mitchell: 35
Richard Olson Jr.: 19
Tim O’Flaherty: 10
Normand said the final tally will be made official May 13 and at that time Sapienza will be sworn in as Ward 5 Alderman.
