CONCORD, NH — During the hours of 9 p.m. June 24 through 3 a.m. June 25 New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop B in Bedford and officers of the Bedford Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 101 in Bedford.

The checkpoint was authorized by an order of the Hillsborough Superior Court and conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

A total of 479 vehicles and operators were screened. Two operators, from Milford and Manchester, were arrested for DWI and one from Alstead was summoned for operating after suspension.

The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Robert Quinn and Chief John Bryfonski of the Bedford Police Department consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire’s roadways.
