UPDATE: Sept. 15: Today is primary election day. Do your civic duty and vote!
MANCHESTER, NH, July 24, 2015 – It was a big finish Friday — and a busy day in the City Clerk’s office — as 39 last-minute candidates beat the July 24 5 p.m. deadline to file for candidacy for the 2015 Municipal Primary Election.
In total, there are 157 candidates on the slate, including five candidates running for mayor and several interesting races shaping up for Board of Alderman and School Committee. Only two BOA seats are unchallenged —Tony Sapienza in Ward 5, who was just recently elected in a special election to replace Ed Osborne, and Barbara Shaw in Ward 9.
