A rainy Fourth of July can’t keep the stars from shining on Elm Street, evidenced by a movie star sighting at Baked Downtown Café and Eatery.
Adam Sandler, high-profile graduate of Manchester Central High School and successful comedic movie maker, was spotted at a table inside the Elm Street eatery wearing a plaid shirt around lunch time on Friday, eating with his family.
Sandler’s latest film, “Blended,” co-starring Drew Barrymore, got mixed reviews last month – so who knows: perhaps he stopped in for a little hometown comfort food?
No matter what the critics say, Sandler always gets a hero’s welcome whenever he’s spotted on home turf.
Not only has Sandler turned up as a surprise guest speaker at his alma mater from time to time, whenever a niece or nephew graduated, but he also generously donated $1 million toward the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester’s $6.6 million capital campaign back in 2007, to help get the project rolling.
