CONCORD, NH – A Manchester man was injured Tuesday in a collision involving a commercial truck that was transporting lumber and scaffoldings after it crashed into the guard rail on I-89 in Grantham.

State Police say the investigation revealed that the driver, Eric Dechellis, 28, of Manchester, who is employed by New England Scaffolding Services of Bow, fell asleep while traveling from Burlington, VT, to Bow at approximately 11 a.m. on Oct. 18.

Both lanes of travel were obstructed by the vehicle, a white Hino flatbed, which became hung-up on top of the guard rail.

Dechellis was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment of injuries not considered to be life threatening.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The roadway was closed and a detour was set-up at Exit 13 for more than two-and-a-half hours to as the crash investigation team surveyed the scene, before clean up and vehicle removal.
