MANCHESTER, NH – A man who shot and killed himself Friday after Manchester SWAT surrounded his Hooksett home was under investigation for a Nov. 7 shooting on Pine Street, police say.

Roderick Murray, 33, of 47 Mammoth Road, Hooksett, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Nov. 7 shortly after the SWAT team descended on his home at about 3 p.m., according to police.

It was believed that Murray was connected to the shooting around midnight on Nov. 7 outside 455 Pine Street in which a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Due to the circumstances and “violent nature” of the Pine Street shooting, Manchester Police utilized the SWAT team to locate Murray at his Hooksett home.

Murray briefly communicated with members of the Crisis Negotiation Unit and after three hours, communication ended and Murray took his own life, police said. SWAT officers, along with medical personnel, made multiple attempts to save Murray,  however he succumbed to his injury shortly after being placed into the waiting ambulance.
