Police make quick arrest in TD Bank robbery

MANCHESTER, NH – Quick action by Manchester Police led to the arrest Saturday of Shane Mitchell, 32, 20 Orange St., Manchester, charged with robbing TD Bank March 7, which is just blocks from his home.

At about 9:30 a.m. police were alerted to a robbery at the bank. A teller informed officers that a man, later identified as Mitchell, approached the counter and handed a note demanding money. He did not display or make any mention of a weapon, then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

A description went out and officers at the bank provided the last known direction of travel from the bank of the robbery suspect to patrol officers.

Officers located a subject matching the description of the robber in the area of Orange Street at Elm Street.

An investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Mitchell, who was charged with the robbery.
