MANCHESTER, NH – A man from Lawrence, Mass., was arrested with a large quantity of heroin which, according to police, he was on his way to deliver to Manchester.

Jorge Claudio, 50, of Lawrence, was arrested July 1 after the Manchester Police Department Special Enforcement Division conducted an investigation into information that Claudio would be heading to the city with a large quantity of heroin for a prearranged buy.

Claudio was intercepted by police in the area of Maple and Harvard streets, and police recovered 318.5 grams of heroin in his vehicle, estimated street value of $31,850.

Claudio was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute. He refused to speak with the bail commissioner so no bail was set. Claudio was scheduled for arraignment July 2.
