MANCHESTER, NH –Isaac Velez, 19, of Hooksett was arrested July 9 in connection with reported gunfire on South Street in Manchester on July 8.

Manchester Police responded to calls July 7 and July 8 for gunshots fired on South  Street near Lowell Street. Police recovered spent shell casings in the area following both incidents, which confirmed someone had fired a handgun. Police determined the shots targeted a specific address, and that it involved rival gang activity.

Chief  Nick Willard assigned additional personnel to work in plain clothes and uniformed capacities in the targeted areas resulting in the detective division completing warrants for Velez, who was charged with reckless conduct in connection with the July 8 incident. Velez appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 10.

Detectives continue to investigate the July 7 incident and have yet to identify the shooter. It remains under investigation, so details are limited.
