MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester NH Continuum of Care (MCoC) is launching a new homeless resource hotline for anyone experiencing homelessness in the City of Manchester. The Manchester Homeless Assistance Line will officially launch on Monday, August 1, 2016, and will serve as a centralized resource for housing, providing streamlined assessment and service referral.

Manchester Continuum of CareThis new coordinated entry system for housing was created in response to the overwhelming need for homeless services and the barriers that these people sometimes face when trying to access such services. By allowing those who are experiencing a housing crisis to call one centralized location where they can be assessed and referred to the most appropriate community resource, this new service is expected to increase efficiency within the city’s homeless services system while helping people get the services they need.

“The Manchester Continuum of Care is pleased to be offering this new resource to the community. Manchester is always on the forefront of innovation and collaboration in its delivery of services to those who are experiencing homelessness.  This new service represents a key step forward in our efforts to end homelessness in our city,” said Mary Sliney, Chair of the MCoC.

The hotline (1-877-606-5173) can be accessed, starting August 1, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. Anyone in need of emergency shelter after hours can continue to call 2-1-1 for assistance.  Walk-in services will also be available to accommodate those who do not have regular access to a phone.  Walk-in hours and locations can be found on the Manchester Continuum of Care’s website at www.mcocnh.org.

The Manchester Continuum of Care (MCoC) is a collaborative of homeless service providers throughout the Greater Manchester area that unifies efforts in the community to prevent and end homelessness.
