New Hampshire and all of New England is rich in football history and fanfare, with the arrival of the New England Liberty, New England natives can now enjoy football year-round’, said Tim Bechert, General Manager, Verizon Wireless Arena.
The Liberty will kickoff April 2016 in the LFL’s Eastern Conference alongside the Chicago Bliss, Omaha Heart and Atlanta Steam, hosting two home games at Verizon Wireless Arena with the home opener on Saturday, June 25 vs. Chicago Bliss and the home finale on Saturday, July 23 vs Atlanta Steam. “Launching a New England franchise was a goal we set at the inception of the sport in 2009. However, we could not locate the right arena or stadium partner. We believe Verizon Wireless Arena in New Hampshire provides us a great building and support staff as well as being centrally located within New England,” said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Legends Football League.
New England Liberty will host an Open Tryout on Saturday, December 19, 11:30 a.m. at Turf Time Tewksbury, in Tewksbury, Mass. Click here to receive email updates about tryout information. The league has begun the process of interviewing coaching staffs and an announcement of a hire will be made prior to the Open Tryout. Games are played by teams of seven-on-seven tackle football.
The league was founded in 2009 as the Lingerie Football League, but was rebranded as the Legends Football League in 2013 by Mortaza. The league is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
