MANCHESTER, NH – Police have charged Jason Crawford, 30, of 287 Lake Ave., Manchester, with the Sept. 7 robbery and first-degree assault of Young Hun Yun.

Charges against Thomas Ford Jr., arrested Sept. 8 by Hooksett police on a warrant for the incident, have been dropped.

According to police, after Ford was arrested and in custody the next day, the investigation into the robbery continued. Based on the follow-up investigation, new information came to light that led to another person of interest, Crawford. According to Detective Paul Thompson, scrutiny of the store surveillance tape indicated that the assailant had a tattoo on his hand, the letter “J,” that positively identified him as Crawford, not Ford.

Detectives went to 287 Lake Ave. on Sept. 8 and made contact with Crawford. Detectives informed Crawford that he was under arrest and a violent struggle ensued. While trying to  arrest Crawford, a Detective sustained a serious but non-life threatening injury and Crawford was additionally charged with a felony-level resisting arrest.

The charges previously lodged against Thomas Ford Jr. were dropped by police. However, Ford will still need to answer for charges related to the other outstanding warrants, police said.

Crawford was charged with first-degree assault, robbery, and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
