MANCHESTER, NH – Police say a Manchester woman who checked herself into Elliot-River’s Edge on April 11 for medical help drove there under the influence of heroin with her child in the car.

At 3:30 p.m. Susan Sparks, 46, of Manchester, arrived at The River’s Edge, for treatment “of a medical condition,” but grew agitated and combative, so she was transported to the main hospital a short time later.

Her child was released to the care of his grandmother.  The investigation revealed the woman drove her vehicle to the hospital while under the influence of heroin resulting in the following charges: endangering the welfare of a child; aggravated driving while intoxicated; two electronic bench warrants.

Sparks was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on April 22, 2016.
