DERRY, NH – It was part homecoming and total dream come true for Miss Rockingham County Holly Blanchard of Derry, who was crowned Miss New Hampshire 2015 May 2 during the annual Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Pageant at Stockbridge Theatre in Derry. The theatre is on the Pinkerton Academy campus, Blanchard’s alma mater.
Miss Manchester Lauren Percy was among the Top 10 finalists.
In her first unofficial statement issued following her crowning Saturday night, Blanchard posted the following blog post on the Miss New Hampshire Facebook page, describing her joy and gratitude to all those who helped her achieve her dream:
Last night was an absolute dream come true!!! I have been dreaming of becoming Miss New Hampshire since I was about 7 years old and last night I made that dreambecome a reality. My journey to becoming Miss NH 2015 began on the Stockbridge Theater stage 11 years ago when the very first Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen competition was held. I am so honored and grateful to have the opportunity to represent our granite state this year! I will never be able to say thank you enough to the many people who have helped me accomplish this goal.
Brenda, Bill, Claudette, Cindi and the entire Miss New Hampshire Board as well as production team and countless volunteers – THANK YOU for all you do! You are the backbone of this organization and work tirelessly to help so many young women earn scholarship dollars for their education. I am so lucky to have had you all in my lives for so long and I look forward to the year ahead.
Lynne and Joey – words cannot describe how grateful I am for the both of you! We did it! I honestly would not be sitting here this morning as Miss NH if it were not for your help with absolutely everything. I love you both more than you will ever know. Thank you to my previous local directors as well for helping shape me into the young woman I am today. You all played significant roles in helping me get to this point and I am so appreciative – Michelle, Wayne & Debbie, Kristin & Lisa, and Scott & Peter.
Robbie – YOU played a huge role in helping me to look the part as Miss New Hampshire. Thank you, thank you for being an incredible friend and hair sponsor this past year. I am so excited I get to “keep you” this year and continue to perfect styling my hair under your guidance.
Natalie and Jay – I love you both so very much! You have been extremely supportive of my journey and I am SO excited to work with you this year. I felt like Miss New Hampshire every time I put on my gown and cannot thank you enough for thinking of me when you saw that gown for the first time.
Thank you to my fitness sponsor this past year, Dan of Renew Fitness. You helped me achieve my goal of becoming a preliminary swimsuit winner and I am so grateful for your support.
Darcy and my Ameri-Kids baton twirling team – I love you all so much. Thank you for being a part of my journey every step of the way! I cannot wait to represent the baton twirling world at Miss America Organization in September!!
Miss Mary – Happy Birthday xoxo You are truly one of a kind. If there was ever an award for most supportive dance teacher you would win it. I am so blessed to have had you in my life the past 15 years. I hope you know how much you mean to me. Thank you for everything xoxo I love my Dance Progressions family so much and am so thankful to have you all in my life.
Peggy – thank you for your love, friendship and countless photos over the past several years!
Todd – I absolutely loved my official Miss NH headshot this year. Very excited we get to work together again!!!
To all the contestants who I had the pleasure of competing with this past week. You are all truly remarkable young ladies and should be so proud of your accomplishments. I am so fortunate to have you all in my life and even more so, blessed to be able to call you my friends.
A huge thank you to our incredible panel of judges this year! I am so honored that you believed in me to serve as the representative for the state of New Hampshire. I hope I can make you all proud in Atlantic City.
To all of my role models, “Forever” Miss New Hampshire’s and everyone else who has helped in some way or another or simply cheered me on – THANK YOU. The love and support I have felt this year is unlike any other.
