MANCHESTER, NH — Gary Fitzgerald, 37, of Manchester was arrested by New Hampshire State Police on Jan. 7, charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell.
At 10:45 p.m. Thursday night Trooper Aaron Richards of the New Hampshire State Police Troop-B was on patrol in Manchester when he conducted a motor vehicle stop for defective equipment.
The driver, Fitzgerald, was operating a 2014 Ford Focus. He was found to have had his license privileges under suspension for driving while intoxicated. During a pat-down search of Fitzgerald, a bag of heroin was located in his left coat pocket. During a search of the vehicle, approximately 19 smaller bags of heroin were located which were packaged for resale, according to police.
Fitzgerald was subsequently arrested and charged with operating after suspension; transporting drugs in a motor vehicle; and possession with intent to distribute heroin.
He is due to appear in Manchester District Court on March 14, 2016 at 8 a.m.
