MANCHESTER, NH – A man was taken into custody without incident after he barricaded himself inside an office on the sixth floor of the Brady Sullivan Building, 1000 Elm Street.

At approximately 2 p.m. on Nov. 18, Manchester Police were notified that a man was barricaded inside an office of the Brady Sullivan building, which houses several offices and New Hampshire Institute of Art college dorms.

The sixth floor houses the Federal Bankruptcy Office and the US Dept of Probation.

Police negotiations with the man were initially fruitless, and Manchester Fire Department arrived to force open the door. Police took the man into custody.

No one was injured.

Police were simultaneously working on a bank robbery and two armed robberies, and did not immediately have details as to the name of the man or any information as to why he barricaded himself inside the building.

We’ll follow up with more information as it becomes available.
