MANCHESTER, NH – A man allegedly preparing a syringe of heroin for himself at Bird Bath Laundromat was interrupted by a knock on a bathroom door from a Manchester Police officer.

Nicholai Dandurant, 26, of Manchester, was arrested Aug. 12 at about 5:20 p.m. after he emerged from a restroom at Bird Bath Laundromat, 253 Lake Ave., with a syringe loaded with “a brown liquid” protruding from his front pants pocket. He was charged with two counts of a controlled drug, after police also found 1-15mg oxycodone pill  on him.

Officer Kyle Daly responded to the Laundromat after a caller phoned for police assistance. A man approached Officer Daly once he arrived and said a man had been in the bathroom for a long time and they called for help after they felt something was amiss.

Officer Daly entered the Laundromat and knocked on the bathroom door, prompting Dandurant to exit before using the drugs. Officer Daly spoke with Dandurant about the substance inside of the syringe and confirmed it was heroin.

Dandurant  was scheduled to appear in District Court Aug. 13.
