MANCHESTER, NH  – Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas has announced the hiring of Andrew Provencher to lead his 2015 Mayoral re-election campaign.

“Andrew has been a very important part of my team since I was in the State Senate.  It gives me great pride to see him evolve into this position of leadership on my Mayoral campaign.  He has always been a great asset to Team Gatsas and I know that he will run an aggressive grassroots campaign in the coming months that will lead us to victory,” Gatsas said.

Andrew Provencher is a Manchester native and former Manchester Highway Commissioner and has more than 10 years of experience working for local and national campaigns.  In the most recent election cycle he managed several State Senate campaigns.  In addition to his political work, Provencher is active serving in a leadership role for many Manchester-based non-profits.

“I am excited to take on this role for Mayor Gatsas and we’ve already hit the ground running.  We have been mobilizing our volunteer base in the twelve city wards, working with our finance committee on fundraising and organizing with our street teams to begin direct voter contact,” Provencher said.

Mayor Gatsas will host his official campaign kick-off and signature fundraising event on Thursday, June 4 at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover Street, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

“I am energized about this Mayoral campaign.  As Mayor I have worked hard to build a better Manchester and I am proud of all that we have accomplished.  In our schools we have added new innovative programming, our neighborhoods are safer, city businesses are thriving and we are investing in and updating our infrastructure. Everyday I am out in the city talking with members of our community and they see the progress that we have made and are enthused about all the potential we have yet to realize,” Gatsas said.

Provencher officially began his role as Campaign Manager on May 1.

Alderman Joyce Craig, former Alderman Patrick Arnold and businessman Jawed Alibaba have all announced their candidacy for mayor.
