Fatal crash in Canterbury.

CONCORD, NH — On May 28, 2016 at 3:58 p.m., Troopers from Troop D responded to Interstate 93 southbound near Exit 17 for a report of a motor vehicle that had traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Troopers at the scene determined that the vehicle involved was 2009, gray Toyota Corolla, driven by Gordon Borek, 24, of Durham.

Several witnesses who had stopped at the scene stated that Mr. Borek was driving erratically before he drove off the road. Mr. Borek was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The investigation is on-going but it appears that alcohol may have been a factor in this crash.

Agencies that assisted the State Police were the Boscawen and Canterbury Police Department’s as well as the Canterbury and Penacook Fire and Rescue Squad.

The public is reminded that seat belts save lives. This crash was potentially survivable had a seat belt been worn.

Anyone who has information regarding this crash is urged to contact Trooper Micah Jones at 603-271-1162.
