MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded  to a call June 1 for a despondent man who had made threats against the building manager and first responders. The building manager arrived at 24 Krakow Ave. to seek assistance for the man, Patrick Clark, 35, who was barricaded inside.

Clark’s mother grew concerned for her son, so she contacted the property manager to conduct a wellness check. The property manager spoke with Clark through the window but noticed Clark was speaking incoherently and appeared to be under the influence of something.

Clark allegedly threatened to harm the property manager, as well as first responders if they attempted to enter his apartment. The manager, Richard Exline, 50, backed away from the building and contacted Manchester Fire Department, who in turn contacted police.

SWAT personnel arrived on scene with the Bearcat and made contact with Clark. He made repeated threats toward law enforcement as they attempted to get him out of the apartment. Clark eventually exited the home due to the deployment of tear gas. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with criminal threatening (felony), criminal threatening (misdemeanor) and resisting arrest/detention. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 2, 2016.
