MANCHESTER, NH — Last night, the Manchester Police Department received information from an anonymous tipster that stated that a wanted fugitive could be found in the parking lot of an apartment complex off of West River Road, Manchester. Officers from the Manchester Police Department responded to the area and located last week’s “Fugitive of the Week,” Eric Savage.
Savage was wanted on an outstanding Hillsborough County arrest warrant for failure to appear on four counts of second degree assault. At the time of Savage’s arrest on the outstanding warrant, he was in possession of a knife. Based on Savage’s criminal history, the Manchester Police Department charged Savage, 27, with being a felon in possession of a weapon. Savage was booked by the Manchester Police Department and held at the Hillsborough County Jail pending his initial court appearance on the outstanding warrant, as well as the new offense of being a felon in possession of a weapon.
“We are fortunate to have members of the public who are willing to make a call to the police to help make their communities safer for everyone,” said U.S. Marshal, David Cargill. “Thank you to the anonymous tipster, and to the officers from the Manchester Police Department who quickly acted on this tip and arrested Savage.”
Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 6,216 arrests (Updated as of 12/24/2015). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, seven regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
