Monday morning just got rougher for those involved in this mishap.

MANCHESTER, NH – An accident on South Main Street Monday morning caused one driver to lose control and swerve into the Food For Pets store, 468 S. Main St., crashing through a front window.

Manchester Police responded to the crash involving two vehicles at about 8:15 a.m.  a.m. near the intersection of South Main and Woodbury streets. According to a police narrative of the crash, Diane Lombardo, 51, of Manchester, was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima when she was struck by another vehicle,  driven by Janet Turcotte, 78, of Manchester.

Police say Lombardo was driving south on South Main Street behind a school bus and did not see that the light at the intersection had turned red.  Turcotte, who was heading west on Woodbury Street driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla,  struck Lombardo’s vehicle. The force of the crash caused Lombardo to lose control of her vehicle, which came to rest inside of the store.

Lombardo was issued a summons for a red light violation. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
