MANCHESTER, NH – State Police are investigating a fatal accident on Interstate 93 in Manchester.

According to NH State Police Capt. Gregory Ferry, a Dodge Ram truck headed north on 93 struck two vehicles early Tuesday morning. The driver allegedly stopped and spoke with the other vehicle operators before fleeing the scene. Several reports came in to police via 911 about the truck with out-of-state plates, operating erratically.

State Police located the vehicle speeding north near Exit 5 as it continued to operate in an erratic manner. The truck lost control in the area of the 93/293 split, going over the embankment and into the woods, where it became engulfed in flames. Rescuers descended on the scene at about 4:30 a.m.

Traffic was backed up in both directions due to the accident, which remains under investigation.
